SVA awards partial tuition scholarships to help talented students realize their dreams of becoming professional artists. Scholarships are primarily available to full-time students seeking admission to the fall semester, and are based on academic and creative merit. First-time freshman awards are renewable for each of the subsequent three years, providing the recipient maintains full-time enrollment and a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Transfer awards are renewable based on the level of placement at which the student enters SVA, providing the recipient maintains full-time enrollment and a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Please note that applicants will not be considered for scholarship until all the requirements for undergraduate admission have been completed.
SILAS H. RHODES SCHOLARSHIP Named for SVA's founder, this competition awards partial-tuition
scholarships to applicants from the United States and abroad. The
scholarships are awarded strictly on merit and recognize the creative
and academic achievements of applicants.
Fall 2010 A minimum grade point average of 3.0 is required for scholarship
eligibility. In order to be considered for the Silas H. Rhodes
Scholarship, first-time freshman applicants must submit all admissions
materials postmarked by February 1, 2010, and transfer applicants must
submit all admissions materials postmarked by March 1, 2010. Admissions
materials include a digital portfolio on CD-R or uploaded to
http://sva.slideroom.com.
SVA does not require a separate application for the Silas H. Rhodes

materials by the specified deadline and have a minimum 3.0 GPA, their
application will be automatically reviewed for scholarship. Only
scholarship winners will be notified of an award
Spring 2011 A limited number of Silas H. Rhodes Scholarships are available to new
students entering in the spring 2011 semester. To be eligible, spring
applicants must submit all admissions and scholarship materials
postmarked by November 1, 2010.
