Deferral of
Admissions

for a maximum of one academic year.
After one year, students must reapply to the college. The Office of Admissions must receive a
deferral request form prior to the start of the semester in which the student
was accepted.
Students who attend another institution prior to starting at
SVA will be required to submit official updated transcripts and portfolio to
aid in the transfer evaluation process.
A student’s placement is contingent upon portfolio quality, credits
earned, the department chair’s approval and the sequence of the current
curriculum.

Please note that your Declaration of Finances (DOF) and Verification of Finances (VOF) letter from your bank must be dated within one year of initial enrollment (start date of classes) at SVA in order to receive I-20 paperwork. For information on student visas and other services, click here.
