Devoted to writing and illustrating picture books for young children, this is an introductory, refresher and advanced course all rolled into one. You will be immersed in developing your individual means of expression and style, as well as craftsmanship and practical bookmaking skills. Attention will be given to working on a personal book project and refining your portfolio. Discussions will include such subjects as materials and techniques, design considerations, publishing and the challenges of working in the field today. There will be guest speakers, in-class exercises and weekly home assignments. If you want inspiration and motivation, and enjoy lots of hard work, this course is for you. Monica Wellington
