Have you always wanted to be on the radio or host a broadcast? Internet radio has exploded in our consciousness and created countless opportunities with audiences that have increased by 50 percent over the last year alone. Due to technology that allows broadcasting from a laptop, virtually anyone can now host their own radio show. Experts ranging from car care to childcare have become Internet radio personalities, with the potential for millions of listeners. This new medium joins satellite and traditional radio in opening doors for new talent like never before. In this course, you'll learn how to create compelling content and formalize your concept for a podcast or radio show. Topics will include writing text and structuring copy; creating a format for your show or podcast, and how to keep it moving and compelling; interviewing skills; communicating information without sounding like you're reading, and creating an "emotional bridge" between you and your audience, making them come back for more. By the end of the course, you will have the tools to create a demo for your show idea. This course is geared toward creating lifestyle/talk/content for radio and podcasts. It will not focus on playing music and announcing it on the radio. NOTE: Students must have a USB microphone or digital recorder, and access to the Internet. For general technical information, please refer to the General Information section of this web site under "Online Courses"
