The School of Visual Arts Dusty Film & Animation Festival, celebrating its 23rd year, showcases the work of emerging filmmakers and animators from the Film, Video and Animation Department, launching many of them in their professional careers. More than 3,000 people attend the Dusty festival, which has garnered industry wide recognition and is considered one of the top student film festivals in the country.

The School of Visual Arts is recognized as one of the finest art schools both in the United States and internationally for its innovative curriculum, unparalleled faculty of more than 1000 creative professionals and its participation in the larger arts community of New York City.
