

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree or its equivalent from an accredited college or university.
- 10 - 15 images on a CD must be submitted (jpeg format for a Macintosh platform). Files must be labeled as follows: First initial. Last name, image number, e.g., jdoe_1. Digital images must be 1500 pixels in width or height at 72 dpi. Powerpoint presentations are acceptable, but they should not exceed 25 pages including title page.
- Artists submitting video work or any time-based work, may submit on a DVD (NTSC format only, no QuickTime or other formats will be accepted). Video or audio works should not exceed a total of 10 minutes in length, and should be clearly labeled with th artist’s name, the title of the work, and the running time of each work contained on the DVD.
- Applicants must submit a 500 -750 word writing sample, preferably an original essay describing an event in your life that has proven to be central to your artistic development.
- Personal interviews are required. Applicants living more than 1000 miles from New York City may request to waive the in-person interview. In such instances a telephone or SKYPE video interview is required.
Note: All portfolio submissions become the property of the School of Visual Arts and will not be returned. No oversize portfolios, binders, prints or original work will be accepted. Permanent bindings, notebooks and oversized cases will be discarded. The College is not responsible for any media that is received in damaged condition and cannot be viewed.
