School of Visual Arts (SVA) presents “User Generated,” an exhibition of sculpture, prints, digital video, computer animation and interactive video installations by students, alumni and faculty from the MFA Computer Art Department. Curated by Charley Lewis.
The exhibiting alumni include six Student Academy Award winners from the past five years: Suk Won Shin (MFA 2004 Computer Art), Robert Castillo (MFA 2004 Computer Art), Young Woong Jang, (MFA 2006 Computer Art), Kun-I Chang (MFA 2008 Computer Art), Tatchapon Lertwirojkul (MFA 2008 Computer Art) and Kwibum Chung (MFA 2008 Computer Art). Other alumni participants include Santiago Castaño (MFA 2005 Computer Art), Eric Berthoud (MFA 2009 Computer Art), Eunha Choi (MFA 2009 Computer Art), Maya Ciarrochi (MFA 2002 Computer Art), Nathan Friese (MFA 2009 Computer Art), Asa Gauen (MFA 2009 Computer Art), Dustin Grella (MFA 2009 Computer Art), Chia Chien Mai (MFA 2008 Computer Art), HeeKyung Song (MFA 2004 Computer Art), Yun Wang (MFA 2008 Computer Art), Taili Wu (MFA 2009 Computer Art) and Giada Ghiringhelli (MFA 2008 Computer Art). Ghiringhelli is a Swiss-born new media artist who is currently living in London. Employing light and the body as main compositional elements, Ghiringhelli explores images in motion through the manipulation of space, time and movement, creating artworks of rhythmic sensation and artificial reconstruction. Her videos have been exhibited internationally in various festivals.
Participating students include Rebecca Adorno-Davilla, Jonathan Brainin, Jennifer Goya, Valerie Guinn, Anis Haron, Jungyeob Kim, Peihsi Kuo, Mark Ramos and Muhammad Hafiz Wan Rosli. Their works range in medium from 3D animation to interactive installations. Faculty member Michael Lascarides will also have work in the exhibition.

The Westside Gallery is SVA's campus gallery in Chelsea. Located at street level at 133/141 West 21 Street, it offers matriculated students a fully equipped venue in which to exhibit their work, either as part of a department-organized show, or by applying to the Office of Student Galleries.
The Westside Gallery is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.,
Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and is closed on Sunday and federal
holidays*. The gallery is accessible by wheelchair. For more

*Summer Hours: June 4th
through August 27th, 2010, the gallery will be closing one hour earlier
on Fridays (5pm instead of 6pm). The gallery will be closed for the Labor Day holiday weekend from Friday, September 3, 1pm through
